In late December, the Ecuadorian Judicial Council awarded a contract for the development of the Legal Information System to Spanish Company Indra. The project is valued at $18.28 million (€13.9 million) and includes everything from the physical improvement of the courtrooms, continuing with the evidence filing system and improving the computer equipment in the different courtrooms to improve and streamline Ecuador's Justice Administration. The computer equipment includes hardware and software. The project is to be delivered in January 2013.
The mission of the Ecuadorian Justice Council is to govern, manage, monitor and provide quality control on the human, financial, material and technological resources, to optimize the justice administration and the services offered to benefit the users, within a framework of ethics and transparency.
