| Within the framework of cooperation between the World Tourism Organization (WTO), the International Tourism Fair (FITUR), and Casa África, in collaboration with ICEX and the Southern Africa Working Group created as part of the Inter-Regional Internationalization Council, CEOE, CEIM, Madrid Chamber of Commerce, FEAAV and CEHAT are honored to invite you to participate in the Tourism Investment in Africa Forum (INVESTOUR), which will take place on 19 January 2012, as part of FITUR.
All of the African nations will be participating in this third edition, as well as the invited regions of East Africa, represented by the EAC regional bloc and its 5 member nations (Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Burundi and Rwanda), and Central Africa, represented by the CEMAC regional bloc and its 6 member nations (Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Republic of the Congo, Chad, Central African Republic and Cameroon).
The African nations are working on the possibility of presenting a series of initiatives for tourist investments in the countries, such as tax benefits, repatriation of goods, etc.
The main objectives of the forum are to present the companies in the Spanish tourism sector proposals for projects in the countries of Africa and, on the other hand, to favor meetings between the operators of Spain and Africa related to the following areas:
• Financing and investment and tourism projects
• Promotion and representation of destinations in the Spanish source market
• Creation and improvement of hotel establishments (not equipment)
• Ecotourism operations in national parks and protected zones
• Promotion of wildlife tourism, safaris, etc.
• Promotion of cultural tourism
• Transfer of technology in the hospitality and tourism sectors
• Infrastructures and transportation
In addition, a Business to Business (B2B) meeting is being organized, along with business meetings between African companies and institutions and potential Spanish partners and investors, with an agenda of appointments set in advance.
